Former Formula One driver Enrique Bernoldi is upshifting into a newer home.
Bernoldi, a professional race car driver from Brazil, and his wife Luisa paid $6.5 million for unit 7042 at Palazzo del Sol in Fisher Island, property records show. He sold his Continuum South Beach condo for $6 million in August, a building that offers views of his new building.
The Bernoldis’ unit is a nearly 3,800-square-foot condo with three bedrooms. Enrique Bernoldi has raced for F1 and IndyCar.
PDS Development, led by Heinrich von Hanau, completed Palazzo last year. The 10-story building’s 43 units go up to 9,800 square feet. Amenities include infinity pools, a private movie theater, a salon, fitness center, children’s playroom and bar. Dora Puig is leading sales. It was designed by Kobi Karp.
The Bernoldis’ new neighbors include billionaire and former Hasbro CEO Alan Hassenfeld, high-profile attorney Jim Ferraro, Azerbaijani billionaire Aras Agalarov and Yard House founder and CEO Steele Platt.
In May, Palazzo’s largest penthouse sold for $31 million to an offshore buyer.
